In Bowden Park in Palo Alto, there is a strange looking cement statue that's some sort of half human, half car hybrid. The sculpture is that of a car with legs, a belly, and a butt. It's clearly in a running pose. This is the work of artist Marta Thoma and was installed in 2006.
This isn't even Marta Thoma's weirdest sculpture. There's also "Go Mama", a strange looking six foot tall rag doll with wacky eyes and a scary looking baby face in its torso! Put up in 1999/2000, it, too, is in a running position, just like Rrrun, and can also be found in Palo Alto at Evergreen Park at 397 S. California Avenue.
